About this job

Working with the Head of Airworthiness the main objective is to ensure that the certification and the continued airworthiness of the Fokker Techniek designs are established within the applicable airworthiness regulations. The Deputy Head of Airworthiness (DHOA) should hold or be working towards a company signatory and ultimately be able to act as or at the level of an EASA Form 4 function.

The DHOA reports directly to the Head of Airworthiness (HOA) no hierarchical employees reporting into this position.

The DHOA deputizes for the HOA in their absence.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Include working with the Head of Airworthiness:

  • Assisting all departments of the design organization in questions regarding airworthiness, environmental protection approvals and certification;
  • Ensuring applicable certification standards and environmental protection requirements and other specifications and interpretations thereof are available;
  • Liaise between the design organization and the Agency about Type Investigation and the type certification process;
  • Assist in preparing Certification Program and co-ordination of tasks related to Type Investigation in concurrence with the Agency;
  • Lead as required the Airworthiness aspects of an STC particularly VIP aircraft with EASA, support project team meetings in this capacity;
  • Advise on the classification of changes;
  • Support test programs and compliance documentation as necessary to show compliance with all CS, OSD and environmental protection requirements, as well as for completeness as required;
  • Support monitoring of significant events on other aeronautical products as far as relevant to determine their effect on airworthiness of products being designed by the design organization;
  • Support the design organization in preparing Engineering Bulletins, MEL, FCD and CCD with special attention for airworthiness, environmental protection and granting the approval on behalf of the Agency;
  • Support the initiation of activities as a response to failure (accident/ incident/in-service experience) evaluation and complaints from the operation and providing of information to the Agency in case of airworthiness impairment (continuing airworthiness);
  • Support manuals to be approved by the Agency, including any subsequent revisions are checked to determine that they meet the respective requirements, and that they are provided to the Agency for approval on behalf of the HOA.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you must have a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and 3 years’ experience in Airworthiness.

Furthermore:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years’ continuous experience within an aircraft design organization preferably in an Airworthiness role. In addition experience in a Maintenance or Airworthiness role for at least the last 3 years would be beneficial;
  • You need to be proficient in the use of technical records, planning & maintenance related software applications, and Microsoft Office;
  • Knowledge of the relevant Part 21 J requirements and company procedures is expected;
  • You have a good understanding of Part 21, Part M & Part 145 and corresponding EASA regulations;
  • Analytical and assessment skills to judge probable airworthiness risks;
  • Knowledge of the Design Procedures, especially the procedures relevant to the classification, compliance demonstration, certification and continued airworthiness process;
  • Knowledge of the relevant certification specification;
  • Supervisor and People skills.
