About this job
As a Strategic Buyer you fulfill a key role in realizing the procurement objectives of GKN Fokker Landing Gear. Based on your market knowledge and your experience with complex multi-disciplinary procurement processes, you link the market’s potential to the objectives of the business. You act as a substantive and solid business partner for the internal customer and as a leader of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and operational purchasers.
Responsibilities
Tasks and responsibilities:
The most important areas of responsibility directly reflected in the strategic direction of GKN Fokker Landing Gear: growth in new construction of critical parts for Aerospace, growth in MRO and growth in innovative (composite) materials. This requires a development in the supply chain that is characterized by high flexibility, long-term programs and contracts, compliance with flight safety and military requirements, working capital management, the development of industrial partnerships and the reduction of the supply base. Responsibilities include;
Advice and analysis:
- Exploring the domestic and foreign suppliers market for (alternative) suppliers and monitoring and converting developments in the market into a sourcing strategy.
- Analyzing supplier data and making suggestions about supplier selection;
- Advising and informing relevant stakeholders with regard to market developments;
- Advising on possible improvements in the supply chain process and the implementation thereof.
To carry out:
- Guiding and assessing requests for quotations with regard to Quality, Logistics, Technology & Total Cost (QLTC), in which compliance such as export classifications in particular is essential.
- Drafting, negotiating and concluding long-term contracts; Negotiating, about quality, price, delivery time and delivery conditions, fitting within the strategy for which you provide; You are the chairman of the Supplier Account Team in which various specialists have a seat.
- Conducting audits in order to develop and safeguard the quality of the supply base;
- Maintaining an excellent relationship with suppliers about (QLTC) delivery, complaints, discussing deviations etc, in those cases where the Operational Buyer needs specific support;
- Management of the Operational Buyer team to implement strategy on daily practice;
- The initiation and implementation of cost improvement, quality improvement, delivery reliability, and cash generating initiatives.
Reporting:
You report to the Supply Chain Director and the internal client regarding progress on the base of a set KPIs that are in line with the strategy that you have also drawn up.
Profile
To be able to fulfill this function successfully, knowledge is required from:
- Current procedures and guidelines with regard to purchasing;
- Negotiating techniques;
- The legal consequences of contracts and contracts;
- Knowledge of the technical production / Aerospace products and supplier market is a strong advantage;
- Administrative and logistical processes within the company including the mutual cohesion;
- The English and Dutch language, German is an advantage;
- Knowledge of ERP systems;
- Experience in a discrete production environment is a plus;
- Procedures, business rules and safety, quality, environmental, security & export compliance regulations as far as applicable for the function.
