This transformation includes new global governance, new ways of working and the implementation of the implementation of digital business services and platforms managed by Airbus Digital Accelerator organization.

The Airbus’ Information Management division and Digital Accelerator department are looking for two Digital Software Engineers to join its Digital Squad based in Broughton, Chester UK.

One key component of this Digital Transformation is the implementation of solutions to enable the data-value chain in Airbus and its Division and to make the best use of Data in Airbus, whether to optimize our business processes or to create new business values via data monetization.

The data-value chain encompasses solutions to create, capture, connect, ingest, transport, process, expose and visualize data, data coming from Airbus, Customers (Airlines), Aircrafts (in-flight data), suppliers and other third-party entities. In that context, the Digital Squad is key in achieving Airbus’ goal. Challenges are numerous and exciting! Help us Drive Digitalization!

Priority will be given to employees whose position is impacted by a workforce adaptation initiative.

Responsibilities

• Involved in all parts of the product lifecycle: idea generation, design, prototyping, planning, execution, monitoring and delivery, in the context of multiple products and initiatives
• Designing and developing high-quality products including frontends, backends, databases and APIs from end-to-end (DevOps), highly scalable, highly available, using a variety of frameworks and tools
• Conducting researches on new technologies and solutions, complete proof of concepts, apply these new findings into our current environment
• Standardizing the quality assurance procedures for software engineering, oversee testing and develop fixes
• Best practices ambassador for digital transformation, including security concerns
• Coaching, mentoring and enabling other developers
• Promoting a strong Agile & Lean culture to drive business values

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Your Boarding Pass:

• Master’s Degree specialising in Information Technology (or relevant experience)
• Proven IT Development
• Proven track record as software developer acting across the entire development lifecycle using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git & Maven), test-driven development and test automation
• Strong knowledge of RESTful & SOA architectures
• Strong knowledge of NTIC technologies such as Java, J2EE, C#, Python, PHP, Javascript, Angular or NodeJS
• Experience with Cloud platforms would be a plus: AWS preferred – any certification will be appreciated
• Knowledge in IoT principles would be a plus
