Airbus Helicopters in Donauwoerth is looking for an Avionic Architect (m/f/d) within the area Avionics Architecture Germany.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate future needs and possible solutions (using Airbus Group network), from concept analysis up to feasibility during Reseach and Pre-Dev phases
  • Ensure retrofit & upgrades of our fleet in service, to keep our avionics up-to-date (obsolescence solving, avionics improvements, introduction of new capabilities/features)
  • In the frame of future developments, to define, develop and certify the most effective avionics solution
  • Participate to avionics Strategy at system level (family concepts, product policy, …)
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps for network, busses, video and connectivity (incl. wireless)
  • Contribute to the set-up of the System Engineering for Avionics (process, methods & tools)
  • Be responsible for the transverse activities & function (Management of commun. resources, integrated modular avionics architecture, system configurability, networks & busses, Connectivity, Data Loading & Failure Management, …)
  • Define ad-hoc development assurance level with regard to development risk
  • Elicit and validate system/product requirements whilst considering the complete system lifecycle
  • Design and define possible architectures considering the functions and other requirements (constraints)
  • Lead system modelling using appropriate modelling methods and tools
  • Lead analysis (Analysis of characteristics and performance)
  • Perform trade-off analysis in order to select the best system architecture fulfilling system/product requirements
  • Validate architecture (using for exemple virtual integration techniques as necessary)
  • Lead verification of the system/product implementation and its interfaces, on the real or virtual system
  • Lead impact analysis of any design change request during the entire product lifecycle

Profile

  • Successfully completed studies in engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of Tiger avionics will be considered
  • Experience in Project Management would be an advantage
  • Experience with SW Tools regarding requirements management (esp.DOORS)
  • System design, certification
  • Easy communication in German and French language would be an advantage
  • English: Negotiation level
  • Team Spirit
  • Ability to work on technical details and also synthetise and report at management/customer level
  • Ability to work in an international environment (this position requires the coordination of many people from different departments)
