Due to continued expansion of the business, we have a great opportunity for a Software Project Manager to drive the successful delivery of several software projects.  You will be part of our friendly software / systems engineering team, which works to deliver a wide variety of challenging solutions across a number of sectors and clients.

This is an ideal opportunity for a project manager who loves software and interesting technology. The ideal candidate will have some experience, a positive outlook and relish the opportunity to make a difference controlling challenging software delivery projects.

The position is in Wincanton (Somerset) with occasional travel to UK based customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the team and managing the project to deliver effective solutions, to our high quality standards within the constraints of time and cost.
  • Project planning, estimating and optimising.
  • Progress tracking, understanding metrics and adapting plans.
  • Dealing positively with customers, reporting progress.
  • Supporting the production of operational plans, reports and proposals.
  • Reporting progress internally, identifying opportunities for process / delivery improvement.
  • Tracking dependencies, ensuring team has the required inputs ahead of time.

Profile

Essential Requirements:

  • Project Management Experience.
  • Familiarity with management methodologies (e.g. PMP, Prince2) and a good knowledge of Agile project management.
  • Able to manage Agile processes that promote regular feedback, evolution of features and continuous testing.
  • Comfortable with working on Defence projects.
  • Effective and efficient communicator.

 

Preferred but not essential:

  • Agile Qualification (e.g. Scrum Master, SAFe Agile).
  • Experience of software development or design, preferably including real-time / embedded solutions.
  • Experience of Safety Critical solution delivery.
  • Experience of Stakeholder management.
  • Experience of customer requirement gathering.
  • Prior experience of working to recognised quality standards, processes and procedures. g. ISO9001, ISO61508, TickITplus, ISO 12207.
  • Hold a HND or Degree preferably in a STEM subject.

 

Other requirements:

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
  • Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
