In this role, the successful individual will oversee all financial and accounting activities for RUAG Space USA, including: accounting, treasury (incl. hedging), controlling and contract management activities, internal controls, management of financial systems, planning and budgeting, cash flow management, legal and tax, and other areas of finance and accounting. As the senior most finance role for RUAG in the US, a strong ability to collaborate is required, not only across the US organization, but within the larger RUAG Space and Group organizations.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring that all financial processes and internal controls are implemented and documented and that they are robust and compliant with applicable statutes and RUAG policies.
  2. Defining the financial structure of the business groups within U.S., and that the appropriate legal structures are in place.
  3. Directing the effective operation of necessary ERP-systems, such as SAP and its various modules.
  4. Ensuring that adequate controls exist over assets used and in particular assets expensed to projects during the duration of the execution and the correct controls exist over their subsequent disposal
  5. Ensuring efficient financial accounting processes such as Purchase to Pay, Order to Invoice etc.
  6. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the instructions from the headquarter as well as local statutory requirements
  7. Ensuring the effective implementation of annual planning and budgeting activities
  8. Setting targets in order to produce resource plans and budgets
  9. Monitoring and forecasting unit business reports, as Sales, Overdue, Risk provision- and cash flows reports
  10. Establishing the accounting and controlling environment for the effective management of cash and ensure the accurate reporting and reconciliation of cash flow
  11. Monitoring and analyzing the risks and opportunities of projects and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the financial reporting and monitoring of significant business projects and contracts
  12. Directing the commercial management and procurement practices within contracts and projects
  13. Ensuring compliance with the various Business requirements and compliance with local rules and regulations
  14. Minimizing Foreign Exchange Risks according to RUAG rules and industry standards

Profile

  • BSBA in Finance or Business management, master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in a finance or accounting leadership role
  • International business experience
  • Prior execution of US government contracts and experience with FAR, DFAR, and CAS
  • Experience supporting/partnering with operational leaders, i.e. CEO, General Managers in the aerospace and manufacturing sectors a strong positive
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, specifically revenue recognition, internal controls, cash to GAAP conversions
  • Experience managing billing processes and systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing financial close and accounting staff
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with ERP (SAP) and billing systems
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Financial reporting and budgeting
