About this job

The successful Stress Engineer will support a variety of aerospace development programs tied to next generation launch vehicles. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, the Stress Engineer will provide technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the design, development, and certification of components such as heat shields, interstage adaptors, fairings, and other launch vehicle components. This role will have a high impact on the conception, design, analysis and fabrication of the various components that RUAG produces in support of our growing customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis tasks supporting product development activities
  • Support concept/trade studies in coordination with System Engineering
  • Develop/Construct FEM to support analysis tasks
  • Provide input to inspection and test plans
  • Perform predictive analysis and model correlations to support testing
  • Issue detailed technical reports documenting analysis performed
  • Participate and present in internal and external meetings and reviews
  • Coordinate analysis tasks with team lead and other technologies as applicable
  • Perform/Participate in analysis peer reviews as required
  • Verify and Validate Analysis Methods

Profile

  • Stress Analysis skills on composite and metallic structure
  • Experience with FEMAP / Nx Nastran
  • Robust Hand calculation skills / methods and Engineering judgment
  • ABAQUS proficiency a plus
  • MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good communication and cooperation
  • Organization skills
