RUAG Space is currently seeking a Product Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development and subcontract management of hardware prodcured outside of RUAG. In this role you will collaborate with Design Engineers and Product Management in the early stages of development, provide feedback on manufacturability, estimated cost, UL requirements and form, fit and function. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of RUAG Space’s newest Electronic Products Group here in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for contract commitments including cost and schedule for the Electronic Products Group.
  • Responsible for the resolution of critical product issues and schedule demands for the on-time space hardware delivery with a focus of driving engineering to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Collaborate with Subcontracts Management in the development of underperforming suppliers and improve cost standards for production and reliable product delivery.
  • Collaborate across multiple international functional organizations working closely with development engineers and respective managers for the delivery of space hardware.
  • Lead and coordinate issues for all aspects of the product (resources, technical, and support logistics).
  • Create and ensure product schedules, milestones and delivery of hardware proactively managing risk.
  • Coordinate prototyping and provide necessary documentation and instruction to support production activities.
  • Work on multiple new product projects under deadline; often working independently to move projects forward.
  • Provide input to product development schedules and budgets, working to meet market and profitability goals.
  • Work with multiple teams to improve product design for manufacturability, ease of assembly, and reduction of product cost.
  • Provide excellent support and service to our internal customers.
  • Crafting technology maturation and risk reduction plans for critical payload elements of electronic subsystems.
  • Supporting proposal development activities for Electronic Products Group.

Profile

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of 2 to 6 years of experience in new product development required.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience with all types of space satellite systems required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization required.
  • Project Management skills required.
  • Leadership of international multi-functional development teams preferred.
  • This position may require light domestic travel.
