Responsible for the design of tools for machining development and production parts.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts on 3, 4 and 5 axis machining centers
• Develop work holding and select cutting tools
• Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines
• Integrate work with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Scheduling Departments to ensure a smooth flow of quality products through the factory
• Design tools for machining development and production parts.
• Produce tool designs and 2D drawings for tool fabrication.
• Design inspection gages for inspection of production parts.
• Work with development and design engineering to create new tool strings for new programs.

Profile

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience writing CNC programs in a machining environment.
• 5+ years’ experience with CAD (solid modeling) and CAM software
• 5+ years’ experience with tool design concepts.
• 4+ years’ experience with GD&T.
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in using Unigraphics, CATIA, and/or Vericut a plus
• Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement
• Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects
