This is an engineering position within Global Manufacturing Engineering function to support the Manufacturing engineering activities of one of the divisions of GKN Aerospace. This position requires to have a strong manufacturing definition knowledge of composite or Metallics or Assy manufacturing process with keen understanding on aerospace Industry trends. The role will be responsible for developing understanding and sustaining process knowledge in India for certain key processes of GKN sites

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts from hand sketches or photos and convert into manufacturing packages.
  • Reverse engineer products in service or repair, verify, apply latest standards and processes with deliverables in the form of drawings, models and other documentation.
  • Understanding key processes and incorporating process planning changes based on best practices.
  • Document responsibility for Manufacturing drawings, Manufacturing Work Instruction, Routing Sheet, Specifications, Standard operating procedures, Material definitions, Bill of materials and special Process Instruction
  • Promote standardized way of working across sites by documenting and propagating best practices.
  • Process planning experience with ability to define manufacturing drawings, Manufacturing Work Instruction, Routing Sheet, Standard Operating procedures, Specifications, Material definitions, Bill of materials and Special Process Instruction.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 4-5 years of experience with demonstrated capability in development of Manufacturing definition with good knowledge in composites or Metallics (machining or other processes) or Assy process.
  • Strong knowledge on GD&T and its application
  • Experience in writing standard documentation and reports related to Manufacturing
  • Good knowledge in reading drawing, PFMEA is a must.
  • SPC knowledge is a Good addition.
  • Good knowledge of Quality system / OMS of a manufacturing organization preferably Aerospace.
  • Generating FAI reports using AS9102 rev B forms 1, 2 and 3
  • Good knowledge in using CAD tools like AutoCAD/CATIA/NX
  • Understanding on configuration management is a must.
