To lead, direct and control the planning, implementation and optimization of the quality organization within the site to achieve the quality strategies and objectives of GKN Cromwell Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality inspection function. Plan, develop, and lead quality resources to deliver parts with quality.
  • Ensures head count planning and execution to support inspection capacity needs. Inspectors, DQRs, Lab Techs, NDI Techs, etc.
  • Collaborates with operations in order to:
    • meet customer requirements in the execution of the PO and all Technical requirements
    • meet customer delivery dates by standardizing inspection operations within takt time (hours available/customer need)
  • The definition, enablement, maintenance and improvement of a QMS that fulfills the requirements of the industry standards, applicable aviation safety laws, customer & GKN Aerospace requirements in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Quality Systems Policy;
  • Integrated, effective and efficient coherence of the QMS with other Management Systems such as the Safety Management System, Health & Safety (ISO 45001), Environmental (ISO 14001), Energy Management (ISO 50001), Information Security (ISO 27001) etc. as applicable to the organization;
  • Named Process Owners define, enable, & maintain effective & efficient quality processes
  • Reporting and improving assurance activities
  • Risk based scheduling of auditing and assurance activities to meet business needs and expectations
  • Ensure effective monitoring processes are defined and enacted of 3rd party accreditation
  • Develop and lead coordinated, common quality processes across the GKN Cromwell site.
  • Establish and implement a process to determine root cause and corrective action for quality system escapes.
  • Lead and Coordinate the development of standardized internal quality metrics to ensure the health of the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure quality requirements are integrated with supply chain quality procedures.
  • Develop and lead Special Action Teams as necessary to address immediate issues affecting the Quality Management System
  • Develop, implement and monitor enterprise-wide Customer Scorecard reporting.
  • Coordinate with site stakeholders to develop and implement training programs across the business units including Corrective Action, Statistical Methods and Problem Solving Quality tools.
  • Lead and mentor Business Unit Quality personnel relative to Quality Improvement projects.
  • Lead and develop Business Unit capabilities for developing and presenting quality data for the management review process.

Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA or 10+ years in quality, engineering, and or manufacturing role required
  • 10+ years of experience in the management of manufacturing and quality organizations.
  • 3+ years of experience working with ISO 9000, AS9100, commercial and military aerospace quality and engineering specifications, AS9145 and ASQR-01.
  • 1+ years of experience of deploying QMS across an organization.
  • 3+ years of experience in the use of risk based methods and techniques for audit planning
  • 1+ years of experience working with SAP.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • 3+ years of Management in an Aerospace Quality Organization.
  • Ability to facilitate a corrective action board.
