Responsible for the manufacturing definition and ME related activities with the value streams and throughout the program lifecycle.  Represents ME at program/technical reviews and at meetings with customers/suppliers.  Ensures the manufacturing definition meets stakeholder requirements.  Ensures adherence to ME processes/standards.  Drives concurrent engineering and participates in design reviews to meet business case targets including manufacturability.  Sets requirements for the technology department and is a member of the Technology Readiness Assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads targeted teams of engineers supporting the value streams and the global manufacturing development. Responsible for manufacturing system definition that fulfills design requirements, producibility and business case.
  • Ensures that major projects are properly planned, executed and closed out in accordance with agreements.
  • Determines/develops process changes needed to meet quality/manufacturing efficiency goals. Identifies/requests methods/technology development.
  • Performs/leads root cause and failure analysis as required. Applies Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company’s overall business objectives and goals, by providing leadership in issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule and people”.
  • Ensures the company’s commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Profile

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Requires a 4-year degree in aerospace, manufacturing/mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • U.S. Citizen per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements
    • Requires 15 years manufacturing engineering and/or quality engineering experience, preferably in an aerospace environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in Process Control Mapping and Variable control, Industrialization TRL 7-9 Gate Process, problem solving tools, Production Platform & Design Standards for Core Products application, Lean and CI qualifications and experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in an Aerospace MRO Environment preferred.
    • Experience with EB Weld, TIG Weld, Thermal Spray, Shot Peening, Automation and CNC machining processes preferred.
