This position will provide P&L leadership and day-to-day focus on the proper execution of actions necessary for the on-time delivery, first time quality and profitability of products and services. Assists in the proposal preparation, win strategy development and achievement of contract award. Develops management tools/metrics with the cognizant business unit to monitor and report progress from contract award to contract closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact with the customer.
  • Facilitate communication between the customer and the company and its internal functions.
  • Customer Performance – accountable for on time delivery to customer requirements, first time quality and customer scorecard results (voice of the customer)
  • P&L Responsibility – accountability for profit including revenue, cost, margin and inventory. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and delivering to budget.
  • Work with the cognizant business unit to resolve problems and communicate to senior management, teammates and workforce in a proactive fashion.
  • Support efforts to ensure overall customer satisfaction relative to current project and prospective, follow-on business.
  • Lead and conduct regular program meetings with the cognizant business unit to address program progress in achieving customer requirements in the areas of cost, quality and delivery.
  • Participate in development of the objectives and business plans of the enterprise and share responsibility for general management of the business to achieve targets set by the company.
  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through effective communications, in developing an efficient organizational structure that is responsive to program requirements and changes. Assigns effective lines of responsibility and authority including the development of key personnel to maintain performance for subordinates
  • Comply with the GKN Compliance and Ethics policy on Contracting with the United States Government in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government. Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the policy and their individual responsibility and accountability for compliance.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Profile

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business and 7 years of project/program management experience in a manufacturing environment – OR – in lieu of degree, 10 years of project/program management experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Must have Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
    • Must be a US Citizen. Must comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • GKN Experience
    • Must demonstrate ability to influence across functional lines within the company and within customer organizations.
    • Must be able to manage and develop highly skilled, experienced direct and indirect reports as well as act as a technical collaborator in a positive and supportive fashion.
    • May be required to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance at the secret level.
    • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills
