Systems Engineers work within an engineering team and are responsible for enabling products from customer requirements in an IPT environment. System Engineers focus on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, then proceeding with design synthesis and system validation while considering the complete problem of Operation, Verification, Manufacturing, and Logistics. Systems Engineers integrate all the disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Systems Engineers consider both the business and the technical needs of all customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional analysis using the systems engineering processes
  • Planning of Verification and Validation
  • Transition to Production
  • With IPT Leads, support change management and proposal activity
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the engineering management and risk management plans
  • Participate in conduct of trade studies
  • Interface with teams in different parts of the organization, including Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance to foster the integration of data and business processes.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Profile

  • Required Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
    • 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering
    • 3 years of experience in a Systems or Senior Engineering role
    • Must have an active Secret Clearance
    • Must be a US Citizen. Must comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • GKN Experience
    • Bachelors in Systems Engineering
    • Experience with document examination, such as engineering drawings, change orders and specifications to verify conformance.
    • Previous responsibility for developing and executing within budgets
    • Previous exposure to product design, verification testing, and customer support
    • Previous experience in an IPT environment
    • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and suppliers
    • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment
    • Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
    • Proficient with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills
