Reaction Engines is seeking an organised and dynamic Production Planning Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating production orders across both internal requests and external customer orders within the Advanced Manufacturing and Production department. Working closely with supply chain/ project managers/ logistics/ Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and production supervisors, the Production Planning Coordinator will ensure a high level of customer service through on-time delivery and escalation when required. The post-holder will be able to operate in a fast paced environment and be a self-starter with a sense of urgency and personal responsibility to support the flow of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create job orders and purchase requisitions as required to fulfil customer orders
  • Develop and maintain reports on productivity, efficiency and on time delivery within the department and initiate projects to resolve inefficiencies either within or feeding into the department
  • Coordinate with project managers to scope and plan production activities and where necessary escalate capacity demand clashes for resolution
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure parts arrive on-time for scheduled activities and where escape occurs re-planning to ensure minimal disruption to production and timescale recovery
  • Coordinate with logistics to kit parts needed for job orders
  • Liaise with ME/ production supervisors and lead technicians on maturity of data capture for operations such as, setup/cycle/move times including deviation, scrappage + re-work to ensure effective production planning
  • Liaise with external customers on commercial vacuum brazing/ heat treatment for pricing/ lead-times and job progress
  • To acquire relevant knowledge relating to specific operations within the department: assembly/ vacuum brazing/ EDM machining/ leak inspection and acceptance testing
  • Establish develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution to Reaction Engines’ corporate objectives
  • Observe and comply with policies and procedures for Health and Safety at Work and observe and continually promote equal opportunities and customer care in compliance with organisational aims and objectives
  • Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation

Profile

Experience

  • Essential:
    • Minimum of three years in a manufacturing environment of which one year should be planning experience
  • Desirable:
    • Purchasing experience
    • Project management experience
    • Previous use of production control/ manufacturing resource planning software (ideally RedAnt)

Qualifications

  • Desirable:
    • A degree/HND level qualification or equivalent in an engineering discipline is desirable but not required, so long as the applicant can demonstrate appropriate previous experience and attributes for the role
