About this job

A position has become available providing Maternity Cover for 12 Months at our head office in Blythe Valley as a Communications Officer.  The purpose of the role to provide a wide range of communications services as part of the GKN Aerospace global communications team, ranging from news story writing and support on global events, to managing translation processes, media monitoring and ad hoc team admin support.

Responsibilities

• To support the GKN Aerospace Global Communications & Marketing Director on occasional basis, including appropriate handling of communications function mail, documents, calls, correspondence etc.
• Provide general support to the wider communications team, including internal communications, business news writing, team event organisation and so on.
• To monitor a number of Communications enquiry mailboxes and respond accordingly.
• To produce daily media coverage news updates and distribute to the business.
• To assist in the management of the departmental budget, processing invoices and understanding budget costings.
• To oversee organisational charts and location information within the GKN Aerospace business.
• To manage the Aerospace Excellence Awards and Hearts of Gold process, working with HR to collate all entries. Managing Executive Team judging timelines.
• To oversee translation process, liaising internally and with external suppliers.
• To provide events support and coordination, especially around Farnborough, Paris and Aerospace Leadership Conference.
• Daily monitoring of social media, newspaper cuttings and other media monitoring.

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, accuracy and precision, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, provide solutions to problems and work independently.
• Formal Qualifications:
  • 5 GCSE’s grade A – C to include English and Maths
