Reaction Engines is looking for a HR Business Partner to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.  This role attracts a competitive salary and excellent company benefits including 30 days annual leave plus public holidays, employer matching company pension scheme, life assurance and 50% off onsite childcare (for children under 3 years of age).

Responsibilities

  • Partnering – Build a strong and trusted relationship with the engineering Director and managers, be integrated within the business and engineering function and meet regularly with all areas of the company
  • Coach – to be a trusted coach in the organisation to help leadership and management to learn, develop, grow and solve real business challenges. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Employee Relations – to own employee relations cases within Engineering to ensure that timely and effective support and interventions are provided where necessary. Equally to champion the employee’s voice to aid the business in decisions making, change and building trust.
  • HR Projects – Lead HR projects both within allocated business area and also across the company as a whole.
  • Learning & Development – to ensure that all employees receive relevant learning and development to deliver to business plan and to develop and grow horizontally and laterally in the organisation.
  • Strategic Contribution – To ensure that the business keeps in the forefront the agreed business plan including behaviours and activities that lead to our vision of maintaining a position of employer of choice. To have a people plan pertaining to your allocated business areas which is regularly reported back and shared to ensure Human Resources and wider company are on track to deliver our strategic intent.
  • Talent – Lead the talent agenda for your business, understanding the key talent, their strengths and development needs and actively participate in talent management discussions with the business teams working in partnership with the talent teams. Facilitate the flow of talent through the business.
  • Policy – Provide advice, consultancy and counsel on HR policy and practice. Apply relevant and pragmatic judgement to deliver sensible business outcome.
  • Establish develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution to Reaction Engines’ corporate objectives.
  • Observe and comply with policies and procedures for Health and Safety at Work and observe and continually promote equal opportunities and customer care in compliance with organisational aims and objectives.
  • Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role.
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation.

Profile

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 or above.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Extensive generalist HR experience.
  • Experience of working as a Business Partner.
  • Experience of working with or within entrepreneurial, engineering or technology organisations would be desirable.
  • Experience of working within a matrix organisations.
  • High level of communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Coaching skills and a passion for developing people.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • An understanding of change management both operationally and strategically.
  • Flexible, positive and patient attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Discretion to process sensitive information relating to employees.
