As a member of the Business Systems Management team, the SAP Master Data Engineer is primarily responsible for the creation and maintenance of data within the SAP Business System at Luton. The role also involves configuration management, data governance and reporting of KPI metrics. The individual will be key in building effective relationships with numerous stakeholders within the business. They will be a proactive, highly motivated individual with the ability to develop working solutions and define strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be compliant with the Company’s Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy procedures.
  • Management of master data and SAP change processes.
  • Working with IPTs to coordinate ‘Point Of Introduction’ actions.
  • Assisting the team in inventory management activities.
  • Data governance and reporting on both master data and operational data quality.
  • Supporting operational data issues & investigating SAP problems in manufacturing.
  • Liaising with Operations on improvement activities in the areas master data and processes.
  • Initiating investigations and reviews to improve overall data accuracy.
  • Engaging in team projects and process development.
  • Carrying out daily/weekly/monthly functional standard work activities.
  • Any other reasonable duties.

Profile

  • An enthusiastic team player with a positive approach, able to communicate at all levels.
  • Attention to detail, with strong planning and organisational skills.
  • A working knowledge of GKN Change Management processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP master data, including BOM’s, Routings & Production Orders.
  • The ability to analyse data and generate reports.
  • Understanding of Engineering and Manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing and emerging demands.
  • To be willing and able to undertake a variety of SAP related tasks.
  • Aptitude to drive change via continuous Improvement and process development tools.
  • Familiarity with inventory and stock control would be a distinct advantage.
  • The successful candidate would have good Microsoft Office skills.
