Responsibilities

The candidate will work independently and also in a team, in order to define, design and test electronic systems for space applications. The activities will include:

• Design of RF communication systems (at component, PCB and unit level) for satellite platforms and payloads
• Analysis and definition of HW architecture in compliance with project requirements
• Validation of design by means of simulations
• Drawing and verification of the electrical schematics and PCB layout
• Planning and execution of tests activity
• Analysis of the performances (signal integrity, efficiency, power quality, EMC/EMI)
• Selection of electronic components based on mission requirements and worst-case analysis (temperature, supply voltage, parameters tolerance, radiation hardness, etc.)

Profile

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Degree: Master’s degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering
• Working experience: 2-5 years
• Age: 26-35
• High flexibility and team-working skills
• Good English level

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

• General electronics for analog and digital circuits design
• Knowledge of SPICE electrical simulations
• Good knowledge of Altium electrical schematic design tool
• Good knowledge of PCB layout design (8+ layers, high-density, high-speed, length and impedance matching)
• Usage of laboratory instrumentation for prototyping and testing
• PCB design cycle, including: architecture definition, component selection, schematic capture, simulation, layout, verification (bring-up, debug, testing)
• RF circuit simulation, analysis and optimization for systems up to 10 GHz
• Knowledge of RF wave propagation and antennas

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

• Previous experience in aerospace/space projects (industrial and/or academic)
• Knowledge of digital communication and modulation (e.g. PSK, QAM)
• Knowledge of transceiver design, impedance matching, filter design and low noise amplifiers
• Knowledge of the aerospace/space standards (CCSDS, ECSS, MIL)

• Basics of electronic FMEA and FTA
• Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility analysis
• Good knowledge of Matlab and Simulink
