About the role:

At QinetiQ we are looking for a bright, enthusiastic w DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer to be based in our Malvern offices.

 

Responsibilities

What will I be doing?

You will be working in the DevOps delivery team covering all areas of infrastructure, reliability, platform and operation engineering across public cloud and data centres; Windows / Linux builds, deployment and management, load balancing, PKI Management and a variety of technologies that serve the service offering.

You will work as a member of a Scrum Agile development team, with the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of software systems. You will gain experience in a broad range of technologies and toolsets.

Profile

What do I need?

You’ll need to hold a degree in Computer science or engineering subject or demonstrable equivalent experience; Knowledge and experience of the initiatives that develop and facilitate the infrastructure and tooling and have a release engineering mindset to engage in and improve the life-cycle of services through deployment, operation and refinement.

 

Experience in some of the following areas would be desirable, but not essential:

  • Hold or be eligible for SC clearance
  • Knowledge of DevOps, Agile delivery, Kanban and Scrum team
  • CI/CD practices with change pipelines
  • Knowledge and experience of AWS services such as VPCs, subnets, Gateways, PrivateLink, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Lambda, API gateway, S3, VPNs
  • Infrastructure as code – Terraform / Cloudformation
  • Knowledge of collaboration tooling – Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket
  • Python / Shell scripting

Lastly, you’ll be able to demonstrate good communication skills as you’ll be leading a team and influencing key stakeholders.
