Based South Birmingham, this successful, growing company operating in the IT Networking sector and specialising in WAN, LAN, SIP, VOIP and cybersecurity solutions is seeking a Sales Operations Manager due to an internal promotion to play a crucial role in helping the sales team to be as successful as possible. This role is a key part of most successful sales teams, and is the Sales Director’s right hand. In this role you will tackle the work required with the CRM system continuously improving processes to make the job easier for the sales team, giving them more time to do they do best – selling!


As Sales Operations Manager, you will bring your knowledge of working in the IT Networking sector and experience of WAN, LAN, SIP, VOIP and security solutions and some of your duties will be to:

  • Help create strategy for Sales Team, desk and field based
  • Develop scripts and tactics allowing team to carry out effective negotiation
  • Manage communication flow across the business related to wins, losses and supply chain issues
  • Be the numbers guru – analysing results and monitoring forecasts
  • Support the Sales Director driving performance by being a great leader
  • Work with partners on joint projects and help to coordinate public sector bids
  • Build a robust process to handle quotes and renewals


  • You must have held a recent similar position in a fast-paced technical IT Networking SME
  • You must have deep experience of some / all of WAN, LAN, SIP, VOIP and cybersecurity solutions
  • Your CV must show how you have managed customers at senior level
  • It must be evident from your CV that you have understanding of flexible approach needed to manage both Channel and direct customers
  • Your CV must show examples of major contract bid negotiations where you have displayed tenacity and have demonstrated relationship building skills
  • You must have communication skills to ensure smooth running even when working at fast pace
  • You must have a Degree or equivalent, ideally in Business or Marketing
  • Your CV must show the completed strategic sales training courses you have undertaken and when
  • If you have formal sales training skills yourself, then so much the better
  • If you have worked within a secure or regulated environment – then this will be a major advantage
