We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced consulting professional to join our Defence Consulting Team.

Responsibilities

As well as the responsibilities listed below, you will have a keen interest and experience within Digital and Information Communication Technology.  You will help develop and grow our core digital expertise and value propositions in consulting that will assist the MoD and NATO realise their aspirations to deliver digital transformation.  Key technologies will include but not limited to: Data, AI, Analytics, Data Visualisation, Robotics, automation, visualisation, Battlefield Internet of Things (BIoT), Horizon Scanning, Cloud technologies, Innovation and a variety of Assured, Resilient and Integrated Networks.

This role demands a variety of expertise from the holder but for the right person, it has plenty on offer.

The role will provide you the opportunity to:

  • Provide detailed knowledge in use of current digital technologies listed above with the ability to act as the Defence Consulting Subject Matter Expert.
  • Contribute to the Digital Consulting strategy and digital goals of the organisation.
  • Contribute to Defence Campaigns and wider business digital aspirations.
  • Drive digital innovation around emerging technologies.
  • Provide leadership to Defence Consulting Teams as required

Your projects will be diverse – working with varying clients, across a number of sectors, using a range of skills. Consequently, we are looking for individuals able to work flexibly across projects in different domains. You might apply your skills to rapidly prototype new approaches & solutions. Equally, you may apply them to complement or advance existing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present technical concepts and techniques in a manner which can be understood by a non-technical audience, both written and verbally.
  • Building an effective and detailed digital roadmap for the organisation.
  • Develop digital value propositions and service offerings for both Defence and NATO opportunities/customers.
  • Always fully comply with Roke’s policies and procedures
  • Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder’s experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business

Profile

Education and Qualifications:

  • A relevant Degree level qualification or equivalent in work experience, such as AI or Machine Learning.
  • Eligible to obtain HMG security clearance – MOD DV clearance desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence – candidates will be required to travel within the UK with occasional international travel as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Consulting experience in customer facing organisations, preferably with experience of delivering digital technologies into Defence.
  • Agile working with expectation of being able to cover key MoD sites across the south of UK and be willing to adjust to the requirements and strategic direction of the business.
  • A proven track record in delivering digital transformation projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across a range of stakeholders, build strong networks and work in cross functional teams.
  • An appreciation of how to effectively sell digital solutions and consultancy.
  • Ability to lead and manage remote teams and create a supportive environment that fosters a culture of innovation and continued professional development.
  • A thorough work ethic with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable and effective at working with virtual teams in order to support customer specific initiatives.

Beyond your technical skills, you will be proactive and able to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will work well alone or as part of a team. You will be curious and seek out the best approach/solution/tool for the job at hand.

Due to the nature of this position, we require you to be willing and eligible to achieve a minimum of SC clearance and DV clearance. To qualify, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years for SC 10 years for DV.
