Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in leading delivering consulting and agile software deliver. As a Roke Consulting Project Manager you will be responsible for growing our client relationships, delivery and continuing to expand our world-class consultancy skills and capabilities. You will be involved in some of the most cutting edge and complex technology projects / programmes within one or more of our client-side teams.

This role will expand your abilities by working alongside our wealth of world leading specialists in data analytics, cyber and secure communications, from rapidly prototyped research right through to high grade enterprise systems. Many of our projects are highly creative, so we are looking for individuals who want to work with the best, have the ability to think around, propose and implement solutions to some of the most difficult problems.

You will take responsibility for all aspects of Roke Consulting project delivery and be a senior contributor to projects where appropriate.

Technical

  • Delivery of all projects as per contractual requirements, on time, to quality and cost whilst delighting the client
  • Ensure, alongside the Consulting Delivery Lead and resourcing function, that the resource requirements for all consulting project(s) and/or projects requiring consulting skills are realistically resourced

Profile

  • Experience in working in the law enforcement, security and defence sector is highly desirable
  • Planning, monitoring and reporting, with P6, Microsoft Project or JIRA experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of financial processes and ability to report financial data would be advantageous
  • Commercially astute, able to effectively manage assignments on time, on budget. It is desirable if you have experience of managing 3rd Party Suppliers
  • A working knowledge and demonstrable experience in all or some of the following areas:
    • Problem identification,
    • report writing,
    • recommending actions,
    • building relationships with immediate contacts
  • Proven track record with at least two years’ experience of delivery management
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile delivery approaches including DSDM and SCRUM, but also Agile at scale using methodologies such as SaFE is highly desirable
  • Teamwork – Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide help where required
  • Communication – High emotional intelligence – listens and questions effectively, concise verbal and written communication skills and effective questioning/listening skills. Able to communicate with confidence at higher and lower levels
  • Flexibility to adapt from providing advice on improving client’s delivery to ‘rolling up your sleeves’ to assist clients in delivering key projects and work packages in their portfolio
  • Customer Focus – Delivers a high level of customer service to our external and internal customers
  • Achievement – Looks to exceed client aspirations and works to goals and manages obstacles. Energy, pride and determination in meeting targets and overcoming challenges
  • Initiative – Ability to analyse data and situations, break down work into key tasks and activities

Due to the nature of this position, we require you to either hold or be eligible to achieve SC and or DV clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years for SC and 10 years for DV. We will provide assistance transferring your clearance, as well as, pay a high level clearance bonus.
