Westek Technology Ltd, a member of tpgroup plc, are a UK designer and manufacturer of high performance rugged computers and electronics servicing the defence and industrial sectors.  We are rapidly expanding and are recruiting for a Sales Engineer to join the team and assist in driving the business forwards.

Location: Predominantly Melksham, Wiltshire based with infrequent UK and International travel.

Responsibilities

The primary function of the role will be to manage and ‘farm’ a number of key established customer accounts and incoming enquiries, whilst building strong relationships and identifying new opportunities within those accounts. The sale is consultative, working with engineering teams to create bespoke solutions to be fully compliant against the required specifications.

You will be responsible for providing detailed quotes, bids and compliance matrixes, managing sales opportunities through the company CRM system, and providing accurate input into the Group sales forecast.

You will work very closely with the technical engineering, design and bid management teams, and will help shape the future product roadmap using feedback from industry.

Profile

  • The ideal candidate would come from an applications engineering / technical background with either some sales experience, or an interest in moving into a sales role.
  • Experience or interest in building PC’s or gaming rigs, or knowledge of general computer architecture is hugely desirable.  Familiarity with the defence industry and relevant Environmental and EMC Military Standards (eg. MIL-STD-810 & MIL-STD-461) would be very beneficial, but not essential.
  • You should be confident, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects concurrently.  Keen attention to detail is vital due to the level of technical information you will be required to accurately convey to the customer.
  • Due to the nature of the product, extensive on-the-job training and a robust mentoring / shadowing period will apply.
  • Some infrequent visits to customer / Group sites and supporting exhibitions will be required, therefore a valid UK driving license and passport is essential.with good responsiveness and helpful attitude.
  • Logical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Clear planning, organising and prioritising abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a good team player but also able to work on their own initiative.
