We are looking for a Technical Manager (Cyber Security) within Airbus Cyber Security in Newport, South Wales.

Reporting directly to the Senior Technical Manager you will lead the engineering team on a project, and ensuring that the specified architecture is implemented in a cost efficient manner that will meet the needs of the schedule.

You will establish the strategy for engineering delivery and the leadership, ensuring that the specialist engineering teams are brought together to achieve the engineering content of the project.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering deliveries between MG4 and MG10 gates
  • Manage the technical assurance of the development, ensuring that the development is compliant to the requirements and architecture as set out by the System Architect and that it is carried out observing the processes as agreed with the Chief Engineer
  • You will ensure that different specialist engineering teams are directed and co-ordinated to achieve work packages, including managing engineering requirements, risks and issues

Profile

We are looking for applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in engineering / IT related discipline
  • Product related training relevant to area of expertise
  • Have experience of systems design and implementation for data communications products in commercial or military environments
  • Have experience of embedded software development utilising custom hardware
  • Experience and knowledge of CS3 is preferable
  • Familiar with process-driven software development
  • Have experience of the full project lifecycle
  • Have an excellent understanding of work package definition, estimation and planning.

This role is based at Airbus Defence and Space offices, Newport, South Wales, with occasional requirements for business travel within the UK and abroad.

Because of the nature of work undertaken, these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.
