We are looking for a competent CNC Operator/Programmer with a ‘can do’attitude to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Your job is important since some materials are not easy to shape or handle manually or with conventional equipment.The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates duty of care to themselves and the people around them by maintaining a clear, clean and safe environment.
  • Oversees machinery setup to make sure arrangement is safe and ready to handle its assigned load
  • Experienced in loading large material into machines safely and with a Quality Control mind-set
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are followed to deliver to the customer right first time
  • Capable to fully understand customer and industry specification including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Aerospace
  • Can fully translate Engineering Drawings and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Regularly inspects machines for mechanical and safety issues
  • Makes sure machines remain well-stocked so that as few interruptions of service as possible exist
  • Verifies inventory and places orders as necessary
  • Examines machinery production output to verify the product is acceptable to move onto the next part of the production process
  • Maintains and updates records about the machine’s operations and overall performance
  • Maintains the skill level required through attending training when requested.
  • Pays constant attention to surroundings to reduce accidents and injuries
  • Works cordially with team members

Profile

Essential requirements for this role:

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK

  • Education through Apprenticeship or Technical Program
  • Production Experience of fully programming and operating CNC Machines for 5 years
  • Knowledge/Use of Heidenhaim control system
  • Computer Literate
  • Excellent Oral Communication
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Experienced in Problem-Solving Skills
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
