EMW, Inc., has been awarded a 3-year, $40 million single-award IDIQ contract for the Support Service Contract for Cyber Defence from the NATO NCI Agency.
The NCI Agency delivers secure, coherent, cost-effective and interoperable communications and information systems and services in support of consultation, command & control and enabling intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities for NATO. NCI Agency headquarters is located in Brussels, Belgium, and the agency operates in over 30 locations throughout Europe, North America, and South-East Asia.
Under the contract, EMW will provide a wide range of services throughout the various NCI Agency directorates. The services or “competency areas” include all facets of Cyber Defence.

Responsibilities
This post of Software Developer C# / C++ focusses on software maintenance and development activities for applications in the domain of military logistics. You will undertake the execution of a range of important technical tasks. This role requires sound technical background in the application management and development area and the ability to demonstrate tact as a member of multinational technical teams. It further includes cooperating closely with current and potential customers as well as internal stakeholders in diverse organizations.
Under the supervision of a project manager or service manager, you will perform duties such as the following:
- Analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of applications software and database and the integration/tailoring of vendor supplied components, following established procedures for quality, configuration control, testing, documentation and security.
- Provide expeditious technical support services, including emergency troubleshooting to ensure key information systems remain operational.
- Support the development of new capabilities by capturing and validating user requirements.
- Test software using technologies and methods to support the full software lifecycle.
- Be responsible for the maintenance and upgrading of the documentation of software applications.
Profile
- REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: NATO SECRET, must hold an active security clearance prior to applying either NATO or your countries equivalent
- A university degree in computer science, information and communication technology or closely related scientific or engineering discipline, preferably equivalent to a Master’s degree and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications. Exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of particular abilities and at least five years’ experience of interest to the Agency
- Experience (at least two years) in various areas of software engineering including the following:
- Software design, implementation and testing.
- Proven skills with programming languages and platforms, in particular C# and C++.
- Design and implementation of user interfaces.
- Relational data base design and management systems.
- Agile software development methodologies.
- Application lifecycle management practices and tools.
- Requirements elicitation and management.
- Application server technologies.
- Knowledge of commonly used standards and best practices for software engineering, including design patterns.
