In this role you will be leading the Engineering and Design team and activities for RUAG Slip Rings SA in Nyon as member of the local management team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Engineering and Design department
  • Be responsible for resource management and for initiating timely resource planning for the Engineering teams based on projects forecasts and business needs
  • Provide oversight, technical expertise and leadership across all aspects of Design & development activities
  • Support M&S Team with a technical point of view and ensure reliability of the costing
  • Deliver expertise for materials and process reviews
  • Ensure excellent interface with Industrial Engineering
  • Define and implement R&D roadmap (owner of the R&D budget) in close relationship with the M&S team the Product Group
  • Build and develop interface with Universities and R&D labs and capture external R&D funding (ESA, EU…)

Profile

  • Masters degree in Engineering
  • Electrical & mechanical background is requested
  • In depth industry knowledge (applications, competitors, customers, etc.)
  • A good Slip Rings/Mechanisms technical knowledge would be an asset
  • strong customer oriented mindset and advanced negotiation skills with both customers and internal/other external stakeholders
  • Leadership experience, entrepreneurial mindset and effective decision making competencies
  • Excellent communication skills and issue/conflict resolution
  • Very good verbal and written English and French skills, German is an asset
