The 6 month – 1 year Industrial Placement Programme

We have created a programme across our UK site that not only increases your technical skills but gives you the opportunity to work on meaningful real life projects alongside experienced engineers and graduates across our business.  You will receive coaching and support to achieve your personal goals and work in multidisciplinary teams to gain as much experience across the product lifecycle from your time in industry, as possible.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic communicator currently studying a related degree to join Leonardo’s UK communications team on a year long placement.

The company’s brand activities are rapidly expanding – this role supports the creation and development of creative output through the company’s various physical and digital channels, in order to promote and enhance brand awareness of Leonardo’s work in the UK.

This position sits within the overall UK Communications department and would offer the individual the opportunity to work with other creative areas including web, social media, internal communications and media relations.

Responsibilities

• Daily photographic (stills) duties capturing our employee activities and cutting-edge engineering capabilities
• Regular video capture duties capturing our employee activities and cutting-edge engineering capabilities
• Occasional photo and video capture activities at other Leonardo UK sites
• Photo and video support to larger UK exhibitions events
• Photo editing
• Video post-processing and editing
• Supporting any communications crisis management activities
• Support to wider UK Communications team as appropriate

Profile

• Predicted grade of 2:1 or higher in a relevant discipline.
• Excellent writing and communications skills.
• Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of photographic and videography skills.
• In-depth knowledge of photo and video editing software such as Photoshop and Premiere.
• Working knowledge of wider Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as Indesign and Illustrator.
• The ability to work well within a team, under pressure and to tight timescales.
• The ability to communicate clearly to internal stakeholders.
