Working in the central finance group reporting team, supporting the consolidation of financial information for Leonardo MW Ltd & its subsidiaries.  This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in all financial areas within a major global employer.

As part of a team, you will take responsibility for producing various analytical reports and drive improvements to data integrity and accuracy across the business, supporting both finance and business colleagues with management information essential to the smooth running of the business. Accuracy, attention to detail and a results-orientated mind-set are essential.

This role also offers opportunities to progress towards professional qualifications as you develop the awareness of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of information for the office for nationals statistics.
  • Financial fixed asset management for Land & Naval Basildon line of business, including acquisitions/disposal and spend control.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Administrative activities (master data maintenance, account maintenance, archive and filing management).
  • Support for monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Perform general accounting functions (e.g. accruals/provisions/amortisation/depreciation, fixed assets register/capital expenditure etc.).
  • Prepare and input journal entries arising from performance of accounting functions.
  • Assist with the preparation of the draft annual statutory accounts. This also involves liaising with external auditors and other departments on various matters relating to the audit, in consultation with the VP Finance.

Profile

  • A*-C GCSE in Maths and English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working towards a professional qualification or would be willing to study.
  • Highly Numerate.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work well both in a team and individually.
  • Able to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Have strong IT skills, particularly regarding accounting software, Very good MS Office knowledge.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
