About this job

We’re looking for you to join Leonardo’s 1,000 strong Edinburgh team as a Senior Configuration Engineering.

We’re close knit, multi-talented bunches who are at the cutting edge of engineering for aerospace and defence. We have exciting opportunities to use your information and configuration management skills as we solve real-life engineering problems on state-of-the-art projects.  You’ll work on things like the RADAR for a Typhoon fighter jet, develop surveillance systems that are used by coastguards to save lives at sea, or perhaps systems to track and defeat missiles.

Does working in a multi-discipline project team float your boat? Glad to hear it.  Here’s a few of the great things you can expect when you join the Leonardo Edinburgh team.

Great work-life balance.

Life shouldn’t be all work and no play. That’s why we offer brilliant benefits like half days on Fridays, flexible hours, gym memberships, and many other lovely incentives to make life great.

You’ll love Edinburgh.

There’s a reason the Scottish capital is regularly voted one of the world’s best places to live. It’s beautiful.

Cultural, historical, and, for those who like to rock lycra on the road, it’s extremely cyclable too. For the joggers among us, there’s also no end of stunning vistas for a 5k before or after your flexible working-day. Good luck matching that at some business park miles away from an actual city.

The work’s never boring.  Obviously not. You’ll be part of a team responsible for designing and building some of the most high-tech systems on earth. From day one, you’ll have a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. Such is the pace of progress, there’s no risk of glazing over. What’s more, you could see a project through the full product cycle, from inception to implementation. So you can truly own what you do.

Room to grow.

We offer fantastic opportunities for learning, development and professional growth. Learning on the job isn’t just a benefit, it’s a must.

A career for life.

Such a variety of new projects is maybe the reason we have such an incredibly low staff turnover. Many of our people stay for careers that span decades. We see these people, our silver-haired heroes, as living proof that we’re a great place to work. This experienced team is also a human encyclopaedia of technical know-how. What better way to learn and develop than by surrounding yourself by the very best, and most experienced, in your field?
