The Role:

To provide support to the business development team by co-ordinating all sales activities for the site and coordinate diaries and visits to customers. The post holder will act as a point of contact for customers and will be required to follow up bids and produce reports for management.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate sales team by managing schedules, filing important documents and communicating relevant information.
  • Produce reports based on the sales information to inform the team on performance and opportunity development.
  • An office point of contact for customers enquiries – directing to the relevant sales point of contact.
  • Coordinate the diaries for the teams and create visit plans managing all travel arrangements as required.
  • Assist the marketing department in new marketing campaigns.
  • Store and sort financial and non-financial data in electronic form and present reports.
  • Oversee smaller bids and manage the bid calendars for approvals ensuring all required sign offs are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the team’s progress, identify shortcomings and propose improvements.
  • Assist in the preparation and organising of promotional material or events.
  • Support other sites activities and other internal administration associated with work on bids up to contract award.
  • Provide administration support to the commercial function as required.
  • Work closely with the office manager on travel requirements and general administration as required.

  • Carrying out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.
  • Working and/or visiting various sites, as required, for short periods, which may involve absence from home.
  • Maintaining a continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date

Profile

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales; experience as a sales coordinator or in other administrative positions will be considered a plus.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office).
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Well-organised and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; certification in sales or marketing will be an asset.

Preferred but not essential:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or defence environment.
  • Experience at working within all levels of an organisation and externally.
  • Able to forge strong working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Flexible approach.

Other requirements:

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
  • Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
