The Role:
The Senior Quality Compliance Engineer shall support the business in achieving its quality targets and goals through the use of proven quality tools and techniques. This will include supporting the Quality Manager in the planning and execution of improvement programs within the value stream through to satisfactory conclusion.
This role must also ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 18001:2007 standards and other relevant regulatory and customer requirements. As a senior member of the quality team, guidance for team members and non-quality staff will be expected as required.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Support the Quality Manager and Head of Operations as required through the transition from 18001:2007 to 45001:2018.
- Support in the maintenance of an approved supply chain.
- Develop and monitor supplier quality performance metrics.
- Drive non-conformance investigations and associated root cause analysis activities including concession management and customer reporting.
- Oversee the maintenance and distribution of all documents and record retention policies.
- Manage quality escapes and customer investigations.
- Oversee and support the writing and review of standard operating procedures to include manufacturing inspection and test plans (Quality Manual, SOP, work instructions, forms, drawings, and customer specifications) to ensure compliance, accuracy, efficiency and clarity.
- Recommend, implement and direct others to modify operational methods and practices along with overall strategy to enhance effectiveness within departments.
- Create and control procedures as it pertains to any new processes planned or implemented.
- Assist as needed in the change notification process as it pertains to documentation updates.
- Participate as needed in corrective/preventive actions items and their investigations.
- Interact with all levels, team members, and all departments.
- Develop and promote continual improvement.
- To be responsible and maintain the environmental aspects of all work undertaken, following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- To establish and support quality procedures and documentation.
- Monitor and record supplier performance.
- Lead and support internal and supplier audits.
- Approve internal specifications.
- Establishing and maintaining as required a close liaison with suppliers and client’s quality assurance representatives.
- Aiding the Quality Manager to train staff at all levels to ensure the workforce recognises their own contributions to improve environmental and health & safety performance.
- To ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and maintain a legal compliance registers.
1. General activities
- Working and/or visiting various sites, as required, for short periods, which may involve absence from home.
- Maintaining a continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.
- Carrying out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Profile
About You
Essential Requirements:
- Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 as it pertains to document and record control.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a quality role.
- Knowledge and application of ISO 9001 & 14001 standards.
- Familiar with problem solving techniques (5Y, 8D, Ishikawa etc.).
- Knowledge and application of AQAP and quality Defence Standards.
- Knowledge and application of OHSAS 18001 standard.
- Able to compose reports for management review.
- Quality auditing qualification.
- Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Confident user of Microsoft office – able to manipulate and analyse data within excel to intermediate standard.
- Strong customer management skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of document control and organisational skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail, integrity and organisation, communication, and interpersonal, clerical and computer skills.
- A detail-oriented multi-tasker with the ability to manage deliverables and handle multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong verbal communication, technical writing, and process improvement skills.
- Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of quality assurance, manufacturing, distribution and environmental systems.
Preferred but not essential:
- Personal certifications in, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Lean, Six Sigma, Green Belt are a plus.
- Knowledge of COSHH, Safety and Environmental requirements is a plus.

Other requirements:
- Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
- Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
- Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
