Responsibilities

What will your role look like?

The Communications & Sensing Practice at Roke Manor is a world centre of excellence, having pioneered many new and ground-breaking technologies over the last 60 years. Joining Roke’s Communications & Sensing team will secure you a world-class career in cutting-edge technology. You’ll work on challenging and innovative projects from day one in the areas of electronic warfare, radar systems, navigation techniques, communications systems, and advanced sensor signal processing / data analytics across the defence, national security and commercial sectors. Profile

What do we expect from you?

Roke is looking for graduates enthusiastic about research and development, who also understand the importance of customer focus.

Ideally we would like you to have a good honours degree in a subject such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics Electronic Engineering or Physics .

Skills we need include:

  • Digital Signal Processing or RF engineering for Wireless Communications
  • Embedded software development
  • Electronics hardware development

What additional skills would be useful?

Additional desirable skills include:

  • FPGA design
  • Sensor design
  • Acoustic & Audio processing

Where will you be based?

Your work will typically be located at Roke’s sites in either Romsey or Gloucester, with some travel to customer sites and the possibility for you to work on secondment with one of our prestigious customers.

Security:

Due to the nature of this position, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
