Purpose of Position:

The EIISS Warranty Lead for the Sustainment function will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead development and implementation warranty policy, processes and procedures in line with contractual obligations.
  • Overseeing and management of an efficient and cost-effective warranty operation.
  • Act as the focal point and lead for warranty management within the EIISS framework.
  • Minimise warranty claim liability through interrogation of failure reporting and trend analysis, ensuring ‘closed loop’ process to avoid repeat warranty claims.
  • The role requires the use of Oracle, PDM and Microsoft Office standard packages such as Word and Excel. There will be a need to interrogate the data held within Oracle and PDM coupled with the ability to export, disseminate and analyse complex data for reporting.

This role will require a flexible approach as there may be a requirement to support other areas of the EIISS business as required.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of EIISS warranty policies, processes and procedures.
  • Efficient and accurate recording and management of Customer owned stocks in the Warranty process.
  • Point of contact for all EIISS warranty claim handling.
  • Effective and efficient management, policing and co-ordination of Warranty claim end-to-end process, ensuring full cost avoidance where practicable.
  • Active participation in the EIISS Warranty Incident Sentencing Committee (ISC).
  • Maintains accurate records and reporting of all warranty articles.
  • Processes and tracks warranty claims, documentation and physical assets on a timely basis to adhere to EIISS and contractual obligations.
  • Reviews Authority records, including JAMES and Equipment Failure Reports to assign warranty status.
  • Reconciles all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule.
  • KPI / management reporting on warranty costs and budget.
  • Active involvement in the development of EIISS / GDUK revenue streams relating to warranty and repair.

Profile

Essential:

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a warranty management role, ideally within defence sector.
  • Excellent organisational skills to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective influencing and communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, with a positive “can do” attitude.
  • High level of computer literacy (Incl. MS Office packages).
  • Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and work flexibly within a small team.
  • Experience of working with Business ERP systems (ie. Oracle).
  • Experience of working with CAD and technical drawings and data.
  • Eligible to obtain the required security clearance.
  • ONC/ HNC qualified or equivalent and demonstrable engineering experience.
  • Experience of working within an aftermarket delivery operation, including warranty management, Continuous Improvement, scheduling and planning.
  • Experience and ability to interrogate CAD data to aid warranty investigation.
  • Experience of working with inventory planning and ERP systems.
  • High level of computer literacy advanced Excel, Access, VBA.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working in a military supply environment.
  • Working knowledge of Defence Standards (DefStans) and Conditions (DefCons).
  • Project management and / or implementation experience.
