The ideal candidate will have industry experience as a propulsion assembly technician or an A&P license with 2+ years of experience in aviation, aerospace, or similar industry performing functions such as; mechanical assembly, repair, rebuild and/or overhaul (R&O), modification & maintenance.

Responsibilities

As a propulsion assembly technician you will build sub-assemblies for the Rutherford rocket engine. Rutherford is regeneratively cooled electric turbo-pump rocket engine with LOx and kerosene propellants. The engine consists of a thrust chamber, pumps, valves, plumbing, TVC actuators, motor controllers, and other mechanical components.

Profile

  • Industry or trade certified.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly for aerospace applications.
  • Talented with mechanical assembly tools, pressure testing equipment and welding preparation.
  • Talented with electrical assembly tools, bench testing and measuring instruments.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Eye for detail and a methodical, tidy and careful work ethic.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical fitting.
  • Experience with in-space mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and continued product development.
