Momentus seeks a knowledgeable, high-performing RF/Microwave Engineer who will serve as a key member of a close knit diverse team to support development of microwave electrothermal propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with spacecraft, propulsion, and systems engineers to understand environmental and physical constraints for components and microwave systems
  • Design and analysis of microwave component and end to end systems to meet requirements for space applications (power, insertion loss, isolation, temperature, gas effects, multipaction)
  • Perform component sourcing, selection, and integration
  • Test and troubleshoot custom designed or COTS microwave components and systems

Profile

Preferred candidates will have work experience in the following areas

  • Waveguide and coaxial cable RF propagation & tuning
  • Microwave power distribution networks
  • RF simulation software – ANSYS HFSS
  • Manufacturing considerations for microwave-band components
  • VNA testing
  • Hands-on history with RF connectors and systems
  • High-power microwave systems preferred
  • Microwave and high voltage safety processes and systems

 

Education and Training:

  • Minimum education includes a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Engineering Physics with an emphasis in RF or microwave applications and plus five years practical and relevant experience
  • Highly relevant advanced technical degrees and graduate training can count as relevant experience. Recent PhDs with directly relevant research experience may be qualified

 

Proven ability to produce technical results in high tempo work environments is critical to this role. Strong references and a history of positive working relationships will be key for successful applicant.  A friendly disposition and a proven strong work ethic are also key.
