We are seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to drive production quality as we move in to the next exciting stage of the company’s growth – rapid production and launch of Electron vehicles at unprecedented frequency. You will ensure the reliability of flight components and assemblies, as well as evaluating product and process output data to drive improvements in manufacturing quality. You will actively represent quality objectives in design and development teams.

  • Production Process Audit/Improvement

Profile

  • 10+ years in a quality, manufacturing, or design engineering role in a high volume, complex manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, Advanced Product
  • Quality Planning (APQP), Metrology, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (P-FMEA), Control Plans, and various problem-solving approaches
  • Experience supporting production of complex electro-mechanical, mechanical, or composites systems in high volume work centers and/or during production ramp-up
  • Proven track record of year on year process improvement activities
  • Has successfully introduced new product to the shop floor having been part of the pre-development design for manufacture process
  • Has conducted both process and design FMEAs which has resulted in substantial reduction of risk and design changes
  • Able to identify new technologies and develop to real shop floor solutions
  • Dedication to adopting a Lean approach to quality without compromising safety or reliability
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, manufacturing, mechanical or material sciences engineering
