This opportunity is for a 6-month internship, ideal for an engineering student looking for early experience of the aerospace sector. We are open to consider a full staff position following this internship. This is an exciting opportunity for you as an engineer to get familiar with both technical and commercial aspects of the space sector in a fast-growing start-up.

You will be joining Open Cosmos’ core team in Harwell-Oxford (UK). You will participate primarily in software activities of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of systems to be verified and definition of test content
  • Develop software scripts matching previous analysis that automates test
  • Integrate automation of custom test equipment in the test script
  • Synchronize thermal chamber with given test script

Profile

  • Operate electronics lab equipment
  • Scripting skills in shell and python
  • Debugging software and hardware techniques
  • Quick learner with curiosity and creativity

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the space industry
  • Handle space hardware in ESD and clean room environments.
  • Satellite production practices
  • Understanding and use of data buses such as CAN, SPI and I2C
  • Good communication & soft skills
  • Programming experience with Python or similar
  • Teamwork skills and open to new challenges
  • Proficiency in written and oral English
