Rocket Lab’s state-of-the-art rocket development and production facility in Mt Wellington, Auckland, is designed for rapid mass production of the Electron rocket. Opened in October 2018, the facility enables the company to build an Electron rocket every week.

Responsibilities

As Junior Manufacturing Engineer at Rocket Lab you days will be varied and interesting, working alongside experienced Manufacturing Engineers you will be providing support across all aspects of the Electron launch vehicle’s production line.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop tools and dashboards, develop work instructions with the goal of improving quality and improving the overall production process.  This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate to use their skills gained at University in  a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Profile

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent qualification
• The ability to read, interpret and create engineering drawings
• Comfortable working with engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) and drawing revisions
• Highly organised, proactive, self-motivated and open to learning
• Equally comfortable in the workshop and at a desk
• Knowledge and ability to apply Lean manufacturing principles is preferred
• Excellent MS Office skills and communication, particularly Excel and coding experience would be advantageous
• Working knowledge of SQL databases and programming is preferred.
