Responsibilities

You will help engineer Rocket Lab’s manufacturing processes, design equipment to be used in production lines, and help troubleshoot manufacturing/quality issues to affect production and delivery targets at Rocket Lab’s state of the art manufacturing facilities in Auckland, NZ.

Profile

  • Working towards a BS, MS, or an advanced degree in a relevant engineering program.
  • Capable of being self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience through engineering project teams, lab research, or through a prior relevant internship or work experience.
  • Professional and positive communication skills.
  • The ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Familiarity and/or experience working with a 3D CAD package (i.e. SolidWorks/NX/Catia)

We also have an opportunity for a composite focussed manufacturing engineer and for this internship our requirements are:-

  •   Enrolled in a relevant course of studies with a preferred minimum of 4 completed semesters with composite focused courses
  • Experience or knowledge of most composite manufacturing techniques (autoclave pre-preg, compression molding, filament winding, wet lay-up etc.)
  • Knowledge of standard composite practices (cleaning, bonding, curing cycles etc.)
  • Practical experience through school or private projects, work or internships (Please include extensive information on these with your application)
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks, NX or Catia preferred)
