  • As a Satellite propellant storage Engineer at Rocket Lab you will be responsible for leading the development of the Photon satellite bus propellant tanks for long term space operations. Specifically, storage for the pressurant gas and the propellants for the RCS thrusters and Curie bi-propellant main propulsion.
  • Day to day you will be working with a team of experienced engineers to concept, design, test, produce and operate the propellant storage tanks to deliver successful Photon missions.
  • In this role you will deliver a product that is adaptable for the different configurations that the Photon satellite bus could fly with.


  • 2 years’ experience directly related to propellant tanks for satellites or launch vehicles
  • Degree qualified in mechanical/aerospace engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience with design for composites and metallic parts
  • The ability to interpret information from others and make sound engineering decisions relevant to area of responsibility
  • Capable of being able to identify work and information needed to achieve development milestones
  • Previous experienced working in a multi-disciplined team
  • The ability to make effective decisions between selecting “off the shelf” and purpose built components to achieve requirements.
  • CAD, thermal, FMEA experience
