About this job

You will be joining the Open Cosmos’ Mission Operations team in Harwell-Oxford (UK) and be responsible for preparing and executing flight operations of the Open Cosmos growing spacecraft fleet. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will provide support to the satellite and mission control software development teams by bringing your operational expertise. This is a unique opportunity to take part in all the stages of a space mission from its early conception to its final decommissioning.

You will be ready to support flight operations following a rotational on-call service to quickly respond or prevent operational anomalies at any time. Anomaly situations may lead to severe consequences for Open Cosmos and its customers. Hence, during post-launch operations, you are expected to strictly follow operational procedures and report when appropriate to escalate emergencies.

As part of the nature of mission operations, you may be required to work occasionally in a shift pattern with other members of the Mission Operations team to support flight operations (especially when tackling Launch and Early Orbit, Commissioning or Decommissioning activities).
