Callisto is an international engineering consultancy and equipment development company in the field of satellite communications. Founded in 1993 and part of Celestia Technology Group since 2018, Callisto has undertaken a wide range of engineering consulting projects, building an enviable reputation as a highly skilled partner to satellite operators, integrators and equipment manufacturers.

Callisto is a small engineering company depending on team spirit, valuing and investing in our employee’s development and oriented towards a culture of quality and efficiency which is good for our clients and good for our staff.

Due to expansion of business, Callisto is seeking to recruit an additional engineer for the engineering team based in its offices in South East of Toulouse, France. The team is engaged in studies related  communications and in the development of specialised RF equipment for satellite ground stations;including M&C systems (Hardware and Software).

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the selected candidate will be to support the engineering team and will typically include: preparation of engineering drawings, preparation of reports & documentation, test of components and subsystems.

Profile

As a minimum the candidate should have at least 2 years professional experience in relevant area and the following qualifications and abilities:

  • A high level University qualification in Radio Frequency Engineering, which includes significant elements of the following subjects;
    • Radio frequency & electromagnetic.
    • Electronics and communications Engineering.
  • RF & Microwave techniques including testing of RF circuits (up to 40GHz)
  • Good analytical abilities, self-organisation skills and the motivation to learn new skills.
  • Flexibility and motivation in order to work effectively in a small company environment. This involves significant technical versatility.
  • Languages: French & English (reading, written, spoken) to a good level.
  • Good communications skills for both oral presentations and written output.
  • Computer literate: MS WORD, MS EXCEL
  • EU National or a current valid work permit to work in an EU country.

 

In addition to the above, preference will be given to a candidate having experience in one or more of the following:

  • Experience in Project Management
  • Satellite Communications
  • Practical experience for cabling and mechanical assembling
  • Software development using NI LabView and/or C or Python.
  • Production and Stock Management
  • Communications simulation tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink)
