Planetek Italia operates in many fields of application ranging from environmental and land monitoring to open-government and smart cities, including defense and security as well as scientific missions and planetary exploration.

We provide solutions and products for Earth observation with satellite, aircraft and drone data. We develop on-board software for satellites and data processing solutions for ground segment infrastructures. Our involvement in research and development activities supports human exploration of the solar system. We develop Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) in compliance with INSPIRE as well as solutions for Smart City and complex systems to support decisions that exploit geographic information, and Earth observation data, according to the new paradigms of Cloud and Software As a Service.

Planetek develops and integrates hardware and software infrastructures for the acquisition, processing and distribution of remote sensing data along their entire chain of production: from Earth Observation to Deep Space; from the Space Segment to the Ground Segment and the User Segment. Our main responsibilities fall into Systems and Software Engineering with strong verticalization towards Space Mission Analysis and Design (SMAD).

Responsibilities

As a GNSS engineer in a multidisciplinary team, you will have a key role in project engineering and development of the GNSS related subsystem, with particular focus on cyber and physical threats. You will contribute to activities related to the usage of GNSS in different application sectors (such as automotive or aviation), GNSS data processing and analysis of performance and writing technical documentation. You will interface to customers and partners, and coordinate technical tasks in the development team.

Profile

You have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or another relevant discipline and you have at least 2 years of professional experience, mostly on GNSS related activities. Specifically, you have skills in the following fields:

• Space missions analysis and development
• Knowledge of the SBAS / GNSS technologies
• Expertise in GNSS data formats and delivery protocols
• Knowledge of SBAS domain
• Desirable experience in projects with European Commission or European GNSS Agency (GSA) or European Space Agency (ESA)
• Aeronautics engineering, telecommunication engineering degree or similar
• Proficiency in English

• Programming skills in C/C++ and MATLAB
• Skills in signal processing
• Experiences with GNSS Signals
• In-depth technical knowledge of GNSS
• Systems Engineering expertise applied to complex technical solutions
• Experience in GNSS in airport environments
