Responsibilities

The Spacecraft Test Engineer will participate in flight spacecraft system assembly, integration and test, on-orbit operations, and anomaly resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support assembly, integration and testing of flight spacecraft and subsystems
  • Create test plans and procedures to validate spacecraft and subsystem performance
  • Execute subsystem and spacecraft testing
  • Assist with flight software development and validation
  • Support on-orbit operations and flight anomaly resolution activities
  • Support spacecraft systems engineering team
  • Develop and maintain laboratory facilities for spacecraft testing
  • This position will occasionally require flexible working hours including nights and weekends to support spacecraft testing and operations

Profile

The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapting to new challenges.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Experience using laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, and power supplies
  • Experience with test automation and scripting
  • Experience with software development in Python, C, and C++
  • Experience with using basic data analysis to validate system performance and identify anomalies
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent technical communications skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Experience integrating and testing spacecraft avionics hardware
  • Understanding of spacecraft avionics functions, failure modes and debugging strategies
  • Experience working with embedded systems, specifically Microcontrollers

Education & Work Experience

  • Minimum BS in Engineering plus 1 year relevant experience.
