Responsibilities

Our world-leading team is growing as we take on exciting new programs, including our own satellite manufacturing division and a mission to the Moon for NASA. As a Mechanical Engineer on our Ground Systems team you will be responsible for the design, build, testing and commissioning of launch range and test cell structures and mechanisms. This includes all equipment used to handle and interface with the Electron launch vehicle from the moment it leaves our production facility until it is on orbit. This role also involves project planning, interfacing with the wider engineering team and working closely with technicians to ensure on-time project delivery and to specification.

Profile

Essential skills

• Mechanical or engineering degree or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in engineering design, test and/or operations in aerospace and/or industrial sectors
• CAD, SolidWorks, EPDM
• Ability to work in fast paced, autonomously driven environment
• Demonstrated experience mentoring junior engineers

Desirable skills

• Experience with launch pad systems OR oil and gas, process, mining, or other similar industry
• Experience with structural design and analysis
• Experience with industrial machinery and equipment
• Fluid system design experience an asset
• NX and Teamcenter
• Experience with ASME, ASTM, and/or NASA ground system standards would be an asset
