Description
The Galileo G1 System Security Service is in charge of security-related activities for Galileo First Generation including end-to-end system security engineering, design and development of Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS) infrastructure, security accreditation and cyber security.
The Galileo G1 System Security Unit is responsible for the specification, design, implementation and qualification of the PRS, System and Segment security requirements within the Galileo Programme.

Responsibilities

 

  • Defining and maintaining the System Accreditation Certification Plan (SACP) for the full Galileo core infrastructure;
  • Managing of the Threat Scenarios definition and analysis of coverage provided by the Ground and Space Segments Security procurement activities;
  • Performing the System Security Risk analysis, identifying the residual risks stemming from vulnerabilities and their associated levels, and proposing the associated technical and operational risk treatments plan;
  • Supporting the definition of security objectives, security feared events and their gravity for the new Galileo Services;
  • Coordinating support from industry in relation to System accreditation;
  • Preparing the relevant documentation required for accreditation decision (Authorisation To Operate or Approval To Launch), and required by the Accreditation Panel which is composed of national experts and supports the Accreditation Board in its decision.

Technical competencies
Strong experience in System Security Risk Analysis for large and complex systems
Good knowledge of existing standard methodologies for security risk analysis
Experience in Common Criteria, Crypto component, Tempest Evaluation
Knowledge and experience of System Security architecture
Education
A Master’s degree in Security Engineering or related discipline is required for this post.
Additional requirements
You shall be eligible to obtain an EU personal security clearance from your relevant national authority.
You should be able to demonstrate that you can work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure as may typically occur in a project team. You should be results-oriented, able to set priorities, and capable of presenting practical solutions both verbally and in writing.
You should have good interpersonal and communication skills. You should have the ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse, international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives and project deadlines. You should also have good technical, analytical, organisational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest in innovative technologies.
