This post is for a limited duration of 4 years (non-renewable) and is classified A2-A4 on the Coordinated Organisations’ salary scale.
 

Responsibilities

 

  • following up industrial activities on launch complex control means, linked to the accompaniment of Vega exploitation, including anomalies, treatment of obsolescence, and complementary developments;
  • supporting the maintenance and evolutions of Launch System qualification status for Vega Ground Control Means (including Level 2 and 3 software used to accept, verify and control the launch vehicle (LV) and Launch System (LS)), ensuring full operability of the Launch System during the exploitation and parallel development phase:
    • Analysis of justifications and independent verification of Vega launch system changes with impact on the qualification status;
    • Management of industrial activities related to delta qualification activities;
    • Resolution of qualification reservations and robustness issues
  • managing the implementation of the Vega-C Ground Control Means (GPM and GSM) activities (including Level 2 and 3 software used to accept, verify and control the LV and LS), including definition, design, verification and synthesis;
  • supporting the preparation and execution of the Vega-C combined tests and maiden flight launch campaigns;
  • supporting the Independent Verification of Vega-C Exploitation HLR and contributing to the maintaining of Vega-C Launch System Master File as far as Ground Control Means are concerned;
  • contributing to the Vega-E Launch System trade-offs and definition of the Vega-E Launch Base System Requirements, including Launch Vehicle-to-Launch Base Interface Requirements.

Profile

Technical competencies
Multidisciplinary knowledge of area of responsibility
Knowledge of industrial costs and scheduling
Knowledge of other technical domains with interfaces to own area of responsibility
Knowledge of ESA and industrial development, verification and procurement processes
ESA space systems development, verification and review processes and standards
Education
A Master’s degree in engineering is required for this post
Additional requirements
Minimum ten years of direct system-level experience in ground segment development for space transportation systems within industry or ESA programmes.
