Responsibilities

 

  • following-up of industrial activities on launch campaign operations definition and validation, contribution to anomalies treatment, and implementation of complementary developments for competitiveness improvement;
  • maintaining the Launch System Operational Products qualification, ensuring consistency between Launch System Definition and Operations Engineering;

o    Custodian of Launch Vehicle-to-Ground Segment Interface Specifications
o    Custodian of Launch System Operational Requirements (SMO)

  • supporting the preparation and execution of the VEGA-C maiden flight launch campaigns;
  • supporting the Independent Verification of VEGA C Exploitation HLR and contributing to the maintaining of VEGA C Launch System Master File as far as Launch campaign operations and launcher-to-ground interfaces are concerned;
  • managing the specification and validation of the Vega-E operational concepts, in particular through : 

o    the completion of Launch System trade-offs 
o    the elaboration of Launcher-to-Ground Segment IRD and ICD
o    the elaboration of Test Plans for Combined Tests and Qualification Launch campaign
o    the definition of Tests Specifications
o    the elaboration of Tests Synthesis 

  • supporting the preparation of Vega-C/E exploitation.

Profile

Technical competencies
System engineering
Multidisciplinary knowledge of area of responsibility
Knowledge of industrial costs and schedule aspects
ESA Space systems development, verification and review processes and standards
Launch campaign operations

Education
A Master’s degree in engineering is required for this post.

Additional requirements
Five years of direct system-level experience in launch campaign operations for space transportation systems in industry or in ESA Programmes is considered an asset.
